Clinical support with defined hours
Secure-text clinical support is available from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Klearmind does not provide 24-hour or on-call emergency services.
Call 911 for a medical emergency. For a mental health or suicide crisis, call or text 988.
Know the risks before treatment
Ketamine can cause sedation, dissociation, impaired judgment and coordination, nausea, blood-pressure changes, psychological effects, respiratory complications, misuse, dependence, and other adverse effects. Compounded oral ketamine is not FDA-approved. Treatment is not appropriate for everyone, and no particular outcome is guaranteed.
At-home treatment is separate from KAP
The at-home program does not include psychotherapy. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is a separate program in which six planned sessions take place at an independent therapist's office and therapist fees are billed separately.
Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers before you begin

What conditions are evaluated for ketamine therapy?

FAQ icon

Klearmind evaluates patients seeking care for treatment-resistant psychiatric symptoms and selected chronic pain conditions. Ketamine is not FDA-approved for psychiatric disorders or chronic pain. Whether off-label treatment is medically appropriate is determined individually following a physician evaluation.

How many treatments will I need?

FAQ icon

There is no single treatment schedule that is appropriate for every patient. Some IV treatment plans may involve an initial series followed by reassessment. Oral programs have separately defined treatment and reevaluation requirements. The physician determines the recommended schedule based on the patient's clinical needs and response.

Is ketamine therapy safe?

FAQ icon

Ketamine has established medical uses as an anesthetic, but treatment still involves risks and is not appropriate for every patient. Klearmind evaluates relevant medical conditions, medications, contraindications, and risk factors before recommending treatment. Monitoring requirements depend on the treatment route and individual care plan.

Will I remain conscious during an IV infusion?

FAQ icon

Patients generally remain conscious, although they may experience sedation, dissociation, changes in perception, or other effects. Clinical staff monitor patients during the infusion and recovery period.

Does Klearmind provide emergency or around-the-clock support?

FAQ icon

No. Secure-text clinical support is available from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Klearmind does not provide on-call emergency services through secure text. Call 911, call or text 988, or go to the nearest emergency department during a medical or psychiatric emergency.

How does ketamine work?

FAQ icon

Ketamine affects several signaling systems in the brain, including pathways involving glutamate and NMDA receptors. Researchers continue to study how these effects may relate to mood, pain processing, and neuroplasticity. The exact response varies among individuals, and the proposed mechanism does not guarantee clinical improvement.

Can I drive after IV ketamine?

FAQ icon

No. Do not drive, operate machinery, drink alcohol or make important decisions for at least 24 hours after treatment. A responsible adult must take you home. Follow all individualized discharge instructions provided by the clinical team.
